Mel Gets Married: I'm Engaged!

From the time that most women are little girls, they start planning (well, more like dreaming) for their wedding days. As cliché and stereotypical as this sounds, we women all know in the cockles of our hearts that this statement is true....read more...

My Health Guru Calley,

Hello, I always seem so down and have no energy. It’s hard to get out of bed in the morning. I have no time (and extra funds), for a gym. Can you recommend a few stretches or exercises that can give me a boost in the morning? Hitting the snooze button just isn’t cutting it.

Scones: No longer just a boring British Breakfast

My friends have a Beer Garden in their backyard. While you may have noticed that it IS a German Beer Garden, they did crank some English specialities out of their kitchen this year. Any reunion I am involved in generally tends to revolve around what’s [...]

Sun Dried Tomato Pesto

I am slowly fulfilling my culinary and domestic desires. The next stop along this path was to get a food processor. I love the idea of throwing everything together, pushing a button and letting something else do the work. I got the teeniest one possible, but it did the trick! I adore sun-dried tomatoes, so [...]

Take Another Little Pizza My Heart

This is more of an idea than an actual recipe. This is a super simple way to satisfy a pizza craving and I usually have all the ingredients on hand anyway.  This is also a good way to use up day old Italian bread.
Alright girlfriends, try this:
- First preheat your oven to 350 and [...]

Blueberry-Lemon Yogurt Loaf

Lately, I have been trying to change my eating habits and kill a few birds with a single stone. I practically live on cheeseburgers, and I’m starting to get a gut. I am also blowing tons of money on unhealthy food and all the actual GOOD stuff that is occasionally in my refrigerator always rots. [...]

Easy Holiday Brunch

Here’s how to serve all your overnight guests and really make them feel welcome and comfortable.  I am someone who loves to have people over especially during the holidays but this idea would also be a nice treat to do for a friend that has let you stay with them.  I gave this menu a [...]
